Is $5k over MSRP on a Lariat model a good deal? I just started contemplating getting a new vehicle for 2022 for the Section 179 tax deduction.

You'll need to weigh the $5,000 ADM vs getting the $7,500 tax credit. Depending on your income level, the Lariat model you are considering, and the IRS interpretation of MSRP, it is uncertain whether and how much a tax credit might be in 2023.

True. Plus the Section 179 deduction won't be as good in 2023 and I won't need it anyway. It lowers my tax bracket this year. The base price of this model is $67,474.00 with $3,015 in options. I think this is a the code NW G15408.

If you can fully use the $7,500 (should be able to) and write it off under 179, I'd say the $5k ADM is palatable.
