Can anyone recommend a mobile battery charger they have just in case the 12V battery in the fronk dies? I have read there are a lot of issues with the 12V battery dying which means the truck is DOA and needs to be towed without a charger available. I'd like to keep one in the truck and not sure if the onboard power from the non-12V battery will be available to power the charger. Suggestions welcome.

No, if you're 12 volt battery dies you will not be able to use the 12 volt system to charge it back up. Current from the high voltage pack becomes inaccessible.

Any automatic motorcycle tender will work for charging / maintaining your 12 volt battery from 110 volt wall power.

I bought one of these when my ID.4 LVB started wonking out. I carry it in the Lightning. It holds a charge very well. Prices fluctuate and there are some no-names on Amazon with better specs for less money.

If you are worried about the health of the 12v, you can connect it to a trickle charger, like battery tender, once or twice a month to make sure it gets topped off.
I do this to prolong the life of my cars since I already have one for a motorcycle.

The truck charges the 12v system when it is on, but not when off and not when off and charging, which is the big issue.
