Thank you, I'll have to check on that, I wasn't aware of an Illinois credit. Illinois charges more for EV plates, no fuel tax
Yeah they charge more due to the loss of their exorbitant fuel taxes. The new Clean Energy Bill passed in early September will now offer $4000 tax rebate at time of sale starting July 1st 2022. So some of us will be able to take advantage of this if we arent in the initial deliveries next Spring

Wyatt Johnson Ford and Two Rivers Ford both told me that they are selling for MSRP and will honor X-plan if offered by Ford. They also both told me they have 100+ reservations which seems amazing for this part of the country.

Ford of Franklin, TN and Hunt Auto, KY never responded to my emails.
Thanks, everyone, after calling a few dealerships near me, I found out that Henry Curtis Ford in Petaluma CA was not charging a market up. I was able to call Ford and have my reservation changed there and saving 10000 dollars. Hope that this post helps anyone else that is in the same situation.
My Dealer said they haven't seen any pricing on the Lightning yet, but won't charge more than MSRP.
Northern Illinois
This is fantastic information! The more dealers we find that aren't charging more than MSRP the better for everyone!

Reached out to my dealer today, Jenkins Ford in Buckhannon, WV and was advised that they will be charging a $2000 premium over MSRP. Thanks for this forum, I will be contacting Ford to move my reservation. Now, if only I can find a dealer that isn’t charging a premium.

I’ve never owned a Ford before nor have I ever been interested in any of their vehicles. What a welcome to the Ford family!

Welcome to the forum @sario77! Have you started reaching out to any other Ford dealers near you yet?

No, I haven’t had a chance to dig into it yet. There are a handful of dealers in my immediate area and I will give it a try. I picked this particular dealer because they came highly recommended from a very close friend. Frankly, I was a little bit surprised. I have no problem jumping on a plane or driving somewhere to pick one up.

Why do I get a feeling that ordering and delivery process is going to be nothing like it was for my last two cars (both Teslas)? I so do not miss having to deal with dealerships. I am sure that they will also try to sell me an extended maintenance contract and fabric protection :) When I took delivery of my most recent Tesla, I did it over my lunch break and even had time to have lunch after that. In and out in about 15 minutes.

You’ll only get Tesla-style service if you are really lucky. There are a few dealerships that give that support of buying experience but they are rare.

Feel free to look at posts on the Mustang Mach E forum. There were a very few folks who checked of all the paperwork electronically pre-delivery and has the cars delivered to their homes. It was definitely the exception, however.

I called Henry Curtis this morning - they are now quoting a $7K markup. They say they have 260 reservations.

With all the news of dealerships changing their tune and charging "market adjustments", I emailed my dealer again. Same information as last time, they will not charge above MSRP as long as they were selected as the dealership when the reservation was made. Will this change? Who knows but, I'm satisfied for now.
