I am wondering if reservation holders who extended their reservation back in the spring because the 2022 pro or XLT models were sold out, will be given the option to choose any trim level when 2023 order banks open up or only the trim level they wanted in the spring. Just curious so if someone that gets to order in the next few days could look for those options when they get invited to order, I would appreciate the information.

I don't think that they will be limited, as the reservation is simply a 'place holder' with Ford, for future order invitations, and since they will be the FIRST in line for ANY new 2023 Models, they shouldn't have any problem changing their trim level, whether up, down, or sideways(XLT 'HIGH', which is a new trim package), etc., or even a Platinum.
Initially, when a reservation was placed, and you chose a trim level, it was simply an indicator to Ford about the number of each different trim that potential customers would be interested in ordering, but did NOT lock you into that trim when you actually received the invitation to order.

Probably. I've heard invited reservation holders who deferred to 2023 will be given special invitations with discounts to preserve 2022 pricing at the start of the process.

Correct, if you were called to order a truck in the first 6 waves but the configuration you wanted was not offered you are given a private cash offer from ford to offset the price increase.
I was called to order an XLT but extended to get a pro. So through my reservation and what was available ford knew that because I passed on the XLT I wanted a pro. I got an email today to order and my window to order was short, I had to finalize by august 22 or be passed by. They are turning up the heat on reservation holders a bit.(in a good way)

I too received an invitation to order (extended my reservation back in February), and Ford makes mention of locking in 22MY pricing in a rather vague way (see attachment). But none of this shows up when building the vehicle, so it certainly "feels" like I'm ordering at 2023 pricing. I called the dealer to ask about this and they had no clue. So, how exactly are they going to honor this? Is Ford going to just expect the dealers to knock off the price different? I wish it was more explicit because I'm a bit nervous about placing the order and not getting those savings.

i went into the dealership and they showed me the paperwork for the Private Cash Offer. He said it doesn’t get applied until the truck is built and there is a vin assigned. You have an option of ordering everything online or sending the order to the dealership. I chose to send it to the dealership because it’s a wonky setup and it’s good to have people in your corner provided you don’t get adm markup. you just have to stick with it.
